A1- Recessed mount
a) Open the guard to expose the inside (hinge side) attachment section. Position the unit in the centre of the window. Install the screws.
b) Pull on the release ring to free the attachment section, then install the screws, taking care to keep this attachment section even with (hinged side) attachment section.
A2- Surface mount
a) Position the unit in the centre of the window, with the hinge side. Install the screws.
b) Stretch out the guard until the attachment section meets the surface of your exterior frame, then install the screws.
B1- After screwing down the attachment section, stretch out the guard and engage the mechanism by pressing on it. Check the mechanism by pulling the release ring.
B2- After screwing the unit to the window frame, check the mechanism by pulling the release ring.
C- Position the plaque protecting the release ring directly under the attachment section vertically or slightly to the left or right, taking care not to create a corner that could interfere with the operation of the cable.
Other informations...
1. Anchors or plugs may be required for some installations. See your dealer for recommendations.
2. To make screws tamper proof drill out cross slots after installing.
3. Larger size windows may be secured with multiple guards.
4. Tools required : Phillips or Robertson screwdriver, drill, mesure tape and a pencil.
